I recruited some Lost Boys (and Girls) at work today

Me: I like you're backpack, it has fairies on it. Do you see the boy on my shirt? His name is Peter Pan and he has an actually fairy named Tinker Bell.

Kid #1: I love Tinker Bell!

Kid #2: I've seen the movie with Peter Pan in it!

Kid #3: Me and my friend always play Peter Pan!

Me: Well, that's the best game! Unless you have to play a pirate, then it's awful.

Kid #2: Pirates aren't that bad.

Me: Pirates aren't that bad!? Well let me tell you, one time I can face to face with the meanest, most selfish, ugliest pirate of them all: Captain Hook. And Captain Hook was trying to sneak up on Peter Pan and capture him! That shady codfish. So I cried out to Peter to watch out. Hook turned around and SWOOSH, clawed at me with his terrible hook and almost slashed me across the belly. Good thing Peter came to my rescue and pulled me away in time, or else I might not be here today.

Kid #1: THAT'S THE BEST STORY I'VE EVER HEARD. YOU ALMOST DIED!

Kid #2: Did this happen at Disneyland?

Me: Yes it did. It's mine and Peter's favorite place to have adventures.

Kid #3: Well, Peter Pan's just pretend. He's not real.

Me: Of course he's real! He's as real as you or me! But Peter only shows himself to people who believe in him. To people who love adventure and are good and want to stay not a grown up. If you do these things, maybe you can meet him and be friends with him just like I am. He'll help you when you're in trouble, make you laugh when you're sad, give you extra pixie dust when you run out, and always, ALWAYS be there for you even if you get tired of him and leave him for something else. He's really the best friend you could ever have.

Kid #1: I believe in Peter Pan!

Kid #2: I do too! And I definitely don't want to be a grown up, so he'll definitely take me on some adventures!

Kid #3: I want to be friends with him too! It sounds like so much fun. Miss Madison, you kind of remind me of that girl Peter Pan was friends with in the movie.

Me: You mean Wendy?

Kid #3: Yeah. You look like her and talk like her. I think it's why Peter likes you so much and saved you from Captain Hook.
